Virginia Beach has a lot to offer! It was a little disconcerting trying to find my way through this massive city when I first arrived. After many years of living (and playing) in this area, I figured it would be useful to write an article that offered some guidance to those who might be new to the area, as I was. You can check here iFLY VA Beach
The Ocean Front is the first thing that should be discussed in any article about things to do in Virginia Beach! According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Virginia Beach has the world’s largest pleasure beach. On a hot summer day, the whole boardwalk along the beach is packed with fun things to do! If you want to take something home with you after your outing, there are plenty of gift shops and clothing stores where you can collect souvenirs.
The Verizon Amphitheater, in addition to the shopping, is a massive outdoor concert venue. Popular bands and musicians perform all year for shows that attendees can never forget, right on the sand! The warm Atlantic Ocean environment creates an atmosphere for concerts that few other venues can match.
You can also visit a couple of the city’s several shopping malls when you’re in Virginia Beach. The Lynnhaven Mall, located just off the Lynnhaven Parkway, is the biggest. This mall has everything you’d expect from a big city mall, including a massive AMC movie theatre and department stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenny’s, and Macy’s. The mall is two floors tall, with the second floor devoted to the food court, which has a wide range of choices so that everyone in your group can find exactly what they want to eat.
Virginia Beach is also home to three major military bases, resulting in a continuously shifting population of nearly half a million people. Since our military forces make up such a large portion of the population, the locals are staunch supporters. This summer, there’s a good chance you’ll run into a military family or two at the beach!
When it comes down to it, the best way to find stuff to do in Virginia Beach is to get out and about. I could send you recommendation after recommendation, but the things you discover with your loved ones when out on the town would be the ones you remember and appreciate the most. I would urge you to do as I did and get out of the house to see this wonderful city for yourself!
